Herb Rubbed Cornish Game Hens with Grains

Offering holiday meals to go is an excellent way to increase sales during the busy holiday season. Simplot Chefs created this delicious herb-rubbed, stuffed cornish game hen as an alternative to the traditional turkey.
Preparation Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Step 2
Sweat onions in butter in a large sauté pan over medium heat for 5 minutes until translucent. Add garlic and grain blend. Cook until heated through, about 4-5 minutes. Set mixture aside to cool.
Step 3
Prep and clean game hens, pat dry with paper towels. Stuff the hens with the grain blend, dividing evenly. Tie or truss the hens, rub with olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt, pepper and remaining herbs. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until an internal temperature of 165°F is reached. Cook times may vary, depending on oven.
