Step #1 (Onions):

Ingredient Measurement
Red onion, thinly sliced 20.0 oz
Butter 2.0 oz

Step #2 (Sandwich):

Ingredient Measurement
Butter, softened 4.0 oz
Sourdough bread, panini style 20.0 count
Simplot Harvest Fresh Avocados™: Western Guacamole - Chilled 6/2 16.0 oz
Monterey jack cheese, sliced 10.0 oz
Pork loin, thinly sliced, cooked & seasoned 20.0 oz


Step #1 (Onions):

  • Combine the onions and butter in large shallow skillet. Sauté over low heat stirring frequently.
  • Continue cooking the onions until they caramelize and develop a light golden brown color. Set aside.

Step #2 (Sandwich):

  • To assemble each sandwich; spread two slices of bread with butter on one side.
  • Spread each side of the bread opposite the butter with 1 oz. of the Simplot Western Style Guacamole.
  • Using only one slice of bread, layer with a 1 oz. slice of cheese, 2 oz. of pork and 2 oz. of the caramelized onions.
  • Top with the remaining slice of bread, leaving the butter side up.
  • Place the sandwich on grill or press with panini flat grill and toast until golden brown.
